Putin confirmed he is pure evil and used the most self-serving reasoning when attempting to justify the invasions of Georgia and Ukraine.

I’ll only watch it if it doesn’t enrich Mr frozen dinner hier.

I wouldn’t.

Actions speak louder than words. It doesn’t matter (to me) what Putin’s justifications are for anything he’s doing; I don’t care. This is the world stage: I can see what’s happening, and this is enough for me to judge.

If I had to negotiate with him, I’d care. But that’s not my job, so I get to judge him by his actions.

Sláva Ukrayíni!

Why would anyone want to watch that garbage?

To watch how garbage interacts with garbage, perhaps?

This link goes straight to the video and skips the website for anyone wanting to avoid it.

GPT summary of transcript:

NATO Expansion: Putin criticizes NATO’s eastward expansion, viewing it as a threat to Russia’s security. He emphasizes that Russia did not initiate the conflict in Ukraine but responded to NATO’s actions and the West’s support for what he describes as a coup in Ukraine in 2014.

Conflict in Ukraine: Putin expresses a willingness to negotiate a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, blaming the West and Ukrainian leadership for the lack of dialogue. He suggests that the West, particularly the United States, has influenced Ukraine’s decision-making and refusal to negotiate.

Russian-Ukrainian Relations: Despite the ongoing conflict, Putin believes that the cultural and historical ties between Russian and Ukrainian people will eventually lead to reconciliation. He criticizes the Ukrainian government’s actions against the Russian language and culture within Ukraine.

Use of Force and Christianity: When asked about reconciling his Christian faith with the use of force, Putin argues that protecting one’s country and people is justified, framing the military actions in Ukraine as a defensive measure.

Artificial Intelligence and Genetics: Putin touches on the potential dangers of unregulated advances in artificial intelligence and genetics, suggesting the need for international agreements to manage these risks.

Global Power Shifts: He notes the shifting global power dynamics, with emerging economies gaining influence at the expense of traditional powers like the United States. Putin criticizes the use of the dollar as a political tool, predicting it will undermine its global standing.

Journalist Evan Gershkovich: Addressing the detention of American journalist Evan Gershkovich in Russia, Putin hints at the possibility of his release through negotiations, emphasizing that such matters are typically handled through diplomatic channels.

I would also appreciate a summary because my tolerance for Tucker Carlson’s voice and face is measured in seconds, not hours.

In the 9th century Prince Rurik peed on a certain tree in the southern half of his territories and we are invading Ukraine because of it. Also NATO is forcing countries to join… By having them begging Turkey and Hungary to please let them in.

From the excerpts I saw, that was basically it

Here’s a transcript to peruse if anyone is interested. Then you can search for keywords to see if they were mentioned, quickly flick through Putin’s rambling and you avoid providing Tucker with a click. Here’s also an archive link if anyone prefers that.

So other than the shock tabloid value of it happening, there’s actually no substance to any of the talking points in the interview.

That depends on how much of the koolaid they drank, I got a mate who thinks he makes good points in the interview. He skulled down the koolaid.

That’s… rather disturbing…

Not a bad singer either. I have a copy of his album somewhere and a couple of the songs are actually pretty good. Others are … weird.

Well Vlad did say that Poland started WW2 and Hitler had to intervene and it’s the same situation with Ukraine - effectively comparing himself to Hitler
