Reddit AMAs pretty much died after they sacked Victoria.

This article is still relevant today for what it mentions needs to change at Reddit. The fact that it’s still accurate is almost like a Simpsons episode; it’s not that they’re showcasing new issues, it’s that nothing has changed for that long.

Any IAmA mods want to reach out to me here, please do.

@Penguincoder Thank you for sharing this. Great article

They should’ve migrated to Lemmy and kept it going…

Pardon my ignorance on the history of this, but who was Victoria? Was Victoria a moderator of the subreddit or an admin of Reddit or something?

For me AMA’s havent been relevant for a decade now. Back when reddit was smaller and it was quirky insight from mostly users with the occasional low level celeb who actually stumbled onto the site and wanted to answer questions.

Once reddit blew up it became repetitive, and the “big name” celebs were mostly just there as a PR move with a PR handler typing out responses, ignoring hard questions, and promoting themselves.

Woody Harrelson is when I noticed AMA had jumped the shark, that was ~8 years ago.

Let’s focus on the film people!

I’m still looking for my sense of pride and accomplishment.
