Wait, did it die completely? I knew they lost the domain, but did they not change to anywhere else?

I‘m not entirely sure tbh, I don‘t even remember where I originally got this link from, I just think it seems legit due to the updates etc. Maybe the onion link you have is a personal one or maybe they switch mirrors every so often. There is a few copycats around too you can find on Google, but with onion links its even harder to know what‘s up.

In addition to Anna’s Archive, I also use libgen.rs, libgen.is, gen.lib.rus.ec (which I think are all the same site?) as well as zlib (ways to access on: https://go-to-zlibrary.se/#useful_link_tab), I can‘t find more than the core rule book on there though.

It‘s probably going to be the other way around if anything, Spotify eventually doing various moves worsening the experience in an effort for more money. It‘s surprising how long it is holding out (and I‘m still using and enjoying it too), but ever since I learned about Enshittification, I‘m expecting it to worsen eventually.

Spotify, only because they still got everything I need and I don‘t want to bother with building my own music library. If they enshittify the service enough, I‘ll ditch that too though.

Learning about the concept of enshittification (https://www.wired.com/story/tiktok-platforms-cory-doctorow/) made me suspect that this might be going on with games too. I mean these always online and monetisation trends seem to suggest so.

Though for me it‘s also the age and work, quest logs remind me of ticket systems and grinding of more repetitive work and it all lost it‘s shine. I enjoy games still, but less often I would say.

If she actually gets convicted of that, it might be another one of these events that seems insignificant on it‘s own, but could have repercussions in hindsight.

Similar to those two self-immolations in the US due to climate change, the loss of these people stuck with me and we‘re not even in the same continent. I can‘t imagine how the relatives and friends feel.

There is a lot of climate anxiety and fear around, and these sorts of repressive actions, or even the inactions following desperate moves, serve to strengthen these feelings.

Wish the best for this woman, some people say or think things like “old people (boomers) don’t care” etc. and I admit I did too, but she proved it wrong, the climate concerns everyone.

Well shit. I thought this might happen. I mean it‘s only a talk for now, but I suspect further that there will be some sort of money offer in an effort to start the “embrace” part of embrace, extend, extinguish and with the NDA we won‘t know if he took the money or not.

So for those who care about not embracing Meta, it‘s the canary in the coal mine. I‘ll switch to one of my safer Lemmy instances now I suppose before I get too attached to this one, see y‘all around under my new identity.

For me since I quit smoking weed something in my mindset changed and it just seems like too much effort overall to play most games, especially bad with open world with hundreds of quests. The quest log tends to remind me of my ticket backlog at work.

I mainly play some small and quick to pick up and put down games with tight gameplay loops atm.

Strongly opposed, but instead of writing a way too long comment explaining too little or getting into useless arguments with those pro, I‘m gonna tell you about something which says more and better than I ever could:

“Against Intellectual Monopoly” by Michele Boldrin and David K. Lavine, it can be found to download on Anna‘s Archive, right on the front page too. I think it is part of what inspires this project and others like it.

Oh man, ok let me provide what I can.

Famous study, but quite old:

https://www.academia.edu/21997616/A_Forgotten_Study_Abuse_in_School_100_Times_Worse_than_by_Priests

Another stat from an odd site, but the link it provides seems legit:

https://floridaactioncommittee.org/likely-sexually-abuse-child-sex-offender-teacher/

4.5 million students currently in grades K-12 have suffered some form of sexual abuse by an educator, and more than 3 million have experienced sexual touching or assault.”

I also edited in an argument about most abuse being committed by family members after you replied, so just in case you see that let me add this:

https://www.childprotect.org/facts-about-child-abuse.html#:~:text=%EF%BB%BFFacts%20about%20Child%20Abuse%3A%EF%BB%BF&text=90%25%20of%20child%20sexual%20abuse,at%2018%20months%20or%20younger.

90% of child sexual abuse victims know the perpetrator in some way. 68% are abused by a family member.

Now before you think my goal here is to defend priests or downplay their abuse, NO, I am strongly anti-religion for myself. I just don‘t think we should use government to ban it entirely, or any activities based on the actions of individuals.

How about instead make people aware of these dangers and how to stop it, how to spot kids who are abused, how to get them to talk about it and let people make informed decisions on who they expose their own kids to. If you are scared for your kids, don‘t go to a church or drag show! Good! Your right after all.

Why do people need the state to ban it for everyone? Not like bans even work well! Drugs are banned and look at the absolute state of that. Alcohol was banned and people still did it.

If you ban churches, you‘ll have underground churches hellbent on taking control of the state to reverse that and abuse still happens anyway too. Except maybe worse cause the victims might feel afraid to come forward because of the activity being illegal.

I get what you‘re trying to say and I‘m not a fan of churches either, but this just legitimises this idea that we need states and governments to ban attending an activity entirely based on negative actions of a some of that group. By that logic there is a whole lot of shit we need to ban including schools, kindergardens and daycares.

The logical outcome then to “protect the children” is to ban any contact to any adult whatsoever, including the own family members since those are most likely to abuse the children.

Easy to see why. Streaming services went through enshittification just like all the social media.

I‘m not trying to say they or who I work for aren‘t terrible (I could rant a lot about all kinds of my employers I’ve had who all have been terrible in one way or another) just that for this one specific change the main factor might be a shift in mentality towards alcohol.

I actually now that I’ve read the OP think that inflation might be another factor which isn‘t being communicated so openly.

As someone who works in that industry, the reason that has been communicated to us is that they‘re testing the markets and demographics and so on and the results all say younger generations like to drink alcohol less, so there is a pivot to non-alcoholic drinks.

Cause I dislike spreading rumours without something to back it up I went and searched a source which confirms that: https://www.kantar.com/north-america/inspiration/consumer/why-young-adults-are-turning-to-low-no-alcohol-drinks#:~:text=A%202018%20Berenberg%20Research%20report,Boomers%20did%20at%20their%20age.

Yes they are like a shining beacon to fascists worldwide on “how to do it”. Now the GOP may have been mainly conservatives, but they are being turned to fascism by some elements.

In my country the far-right even had a written “agreement of cooperation” with the Kremlin to “advance both their causes”. They only stopped openly doing that since 2022, but 100% they still parrot Putin talking points. This was public knowledge (as well as their repeated corruption) and yet people STILL vote them in even bigger numbers, because their “distract, recruit and convert with hate and fear” tactics work so well.

No, one thing is the use cases of some to bypass laws.

The other thing is, there will always be people to fall for all kinds of scams, cults, hypes, pyramid schemes so many are still alive as well, there is people out there buying sugar pills and energy healing and Reddit gold.

The word imperialism refers to the practice of a country’s extending its political power, especially through the acquisition of conquered territory. Such a country and the lands it controls are called an empire.

How does it not fit for you?

I insist Amazon doesn‘t really work for striking delivery drivers.

Well Option 2 is a stinker, easy choice for anyone who isn‘t a spez sockpuppet.

I’m just looking forward to the funny John Oliver edits hitting lemmy and maybe an episode on enshittification of corporate social media.

Facebook already went through enshittification and should be dead but somehow it isn’t, it just survives off boomers and conspiracy theorists or something.

Similar to how Reddit will survive even if it‘s all just bots talking to each other and reposting into infinity.

Weird to think some text or image I contributed could be reposted long after my death and written about by AI bots.

I deleted my accounts and refuse to click Reddit links, so I can‘t vote or even see it, but I hope whatever option is most annoying to the admins wins.

My main reason to rush was that I felt disgusted any time I opened it, because I kept seeing comments from people who didn‘t give a fuck and supported spez. I’m used to feeling like shit and doom when browsing Reddit, but disgust was a new one.

So I pulled the plug early and overall, I feel good here now, I can share in some negative news about Reddit which makes me feel less alone and also participate in new and growing communities, it‘s awesome.

Only thing I miss is the app, Apollo was a wonderful app and you could tell a labor of love, RIP. I can see why you might want to use it till its last day.

I used Apollo until roughly a week ago or so when I started to detach from Reddit. Now it‘s since been uninstalled.

He seems way too nice to sue over that, his last posts alone are so open and transparent and self-reflective and so on. He‘ll probably be the bigger person and move on. It‘s mostly vindictive tiny ego people like billionaires who sue over those kind of things.

Though if he did sue, good for him and would be entirely justified in my eyes, they really did him dirty and spread all sorts of lies!

Hoping it‘s true, but I‘ll wait with congratulations until I see some proof.

Anyway, criminals or whatnot, is a fine line anyway and subjective. To me spez is the criminal right now, it‘s just that there isn‘t a crime for “destruction of communities” and if there were there‘d be an exception for rich people.

There is a few different ones, one is on lemmy.ml which I am meh about, another one is from an ex-mod of r/piracy, see here for them posting about being removed:

https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/35555?scrollToComments=true

Right now I think this is all a bit of a painful fragmentation, but I am hoping for some app/website/idk to release which can present these communities better together, cause I‘m half the time confused now where I am. I don’t know which one I‘m supposed to use or which will “win out” (when I wish actually all would be more as one, but as failsafes exist separately to take advantage of the fediverse).

I enjoyed the underlying anarchist texts to the movement like Bullshit Jobs by Graeber, The Abolition of Work by Bob Black etc. but yeah discussion of that was minimal and the more people arrived the less there was and I‘m also sure none of that ever made it to r/all.

Ironically, I have a great manager and wonderful job, I just dislike the system as a whole due to a) people around me suffering b) bad experiences growing up I been exploited with internships as somewhat of a cleaner. Thus I like our cleaners more than the CEO and if I were in charge I‘d pay them better too.

Anyway, the biggest advocates for r/antiwork in my mind aren‘t some mods, it‘s actually people like Musk or spez who can‘t help but treat anyone working class like trash and rabble. They push this mentality of everyone should kiss their feet or they deserve to become homeless. As long as they are around, such a movement will persist. I mean it even exists in supposedly-communist China with tang ping and they try to censor it a lot harder, haha good luck! Either they treat people well and foster a positive and engaging work culture or a counterculture arises naturally.

Sorry, now I went off on a tangent all just from this little comment!

Pretty sure most of the more anarchist mods got pushed out sometime after the whole Fox News debacle already and since then the content has become less spicy too. Watering all that down again, what is even left? “Please master spez I would like to slightly criticise a corporation, am I allowed to do this or is it against the guidelines and duties of moderators?” or what.

Well, it is all for the best, free thinking people will migrate and rebuild, the rest I won‘t miss.
