Yeah and also your comment might be illegal in the US soon

At my first full time job my supervisor specified that I could hang up on anyone who brought up their lawyer, used abusive language, or brought up the BBB.

Democracy was dead from the beginning, the ‘founding fathers’ were afraid of the masses and the structure of the government is a reflection of that. On top of that the dominance of political parties (which George Washington warned against) makes it essentially impossible to vote for someone who generally shares your interests which is what you’re supposed to be doing in a democracy.

Isn’t the Corolla the luxury line vs the camry though? And having an early prius definitely a rich person thing.

They can only steal rich people’s cars (keyless entry) with this, I’m for it. Those are the same people voting down public transit.

The only part I feel confident with right now is safely obtaining the media. I’m fine with that step being manual.

Ideas for setting up a media server compatible with xbox viewing?
I have a TCL tv with (with google smart TV software) and have been ingesting TV shows, games, and movies primarily from an xbox using various paid streaming apps for like 15 years. As streaming costs go up I’ve wanted to set up a media server compatible with playing stuff from the xbox and have had some friends suggest Plex so that we could potentially share media. People here seem partial to Jellyfin but the internet seems to feel it doesn’t work smoothly with xbox (buggy app/integration). Any suggestions for the most elegant setup possible for hosting a home server for streaming TV shows and movies from xbox?

Avatar and Medieval Dynasty (on xbox)! Medieval dynasty is an interesting mix between a first person rpg and an rts.

Yeah and they’re constantly adding phenomenal user requested features in their updates (even for the original kickstarter device that I have). A libgen app would be convenient!

They say rich tech people fled to the suburbs during the pandemic so maybe this is how the vacuum fills? Though rents are going up in the city too and housing is pretty tight so maybe no vacuum anywhere:( Need more.

Democracy works really well when everyone in the voting group respects and values each-others’ opinions. I think this is probably only achievable in quite small groups.

Once it gets too big when a decision that you don’t like comes down the pipeline it doesn’t much matter to you whether a dictator proclaimed it or a bunch of faceless strangers voted for it.

If you live in a population that is large and non-homogeneous and are part of a minority 1 person 1 vote doesn’t feel great.

Oof. Canadians tell your reps you want cumulative tax increases per residential property! Even better, per unit!

Banning the reporting of suicide stats to try to save face is some nasty shit. Suicide is often a last attempt at asserting autonomy.

I hope the discussions immediately turn to better questions like “what does it mean to own an idea or a blueprint or a sound.”

I mean they’d already told us it’s like stealing a car, I thought we’d accepted that and moved on (with all our free cars).

Selfishly want Canada to road test some ridiculous tax for residential properties that you own but don’t personally reside in. 50% progressive increase in property taxes for every residential property beyond the one you live in or something.

“Police say Parks Canada and independent contractors are working together to bring people down from the mountain along a 5.5-kilometre hiking trail.”

Damn, could be rough for people who were not prepared for a hike. They’ll have a story to tell when they get home!

Well my only Mastercard got canceled due to inactivity so take that Mastercard

My experience with Google search had degraded dramatically in the last 6mo. Just isn’t pulling up relevant results. Sometimes not even close.

I had to stop using my car insurance app because it started requiring location information to open.

There was a conspiracy that the original titanic going down was an insurance scam.
