It’s not about the legal liability and more that publically traded corporations only want profit. Reddit would need to cater to advertisers who would not like all the porn, it’s why Tumblr and Imgur removed the porn.

I think Reddit would have to tackle the mountains of porn too for those optics.

Boomer doesn’t have to be literal boomers but old, like it is a joke in the WoW community to call it a boomer game because most of the people playing it (especially classic) are 30+ years old.

In the same way, people will talk about boomers in politics but Obama was the last baby boomer in the presidency.

I agree with you but they’re not going to see sales go down and decide to make less profitable decisions. Like Netflix, people said they were going to stop paying for it because the price hikes and the account sharing but they’re making better margins now.

We need to stop only boycotting and seek legal action. Antitrust Apple.

Remember the actor strikes this year? One of the demands was to keep AI from copying the likeness of the actors and using that to replace them.

And these mother fuckers have the nerve to be worried I’m copying shit.

I think private investment is awful but I’m being dogmatic in that stance.

If we want to split hairs, the US power grid is also privately owned and allowed bidders to set the price forever.

But one is decarbonizing and the other is not.

12% of Uruguay’s GDP into renewables to get there. That’s impressive.

12% of the US’ GDP would be 2.7 trillion dollars. Or a bit more than 3 years of the US millitary budget.

I don’t how that should make me feel any better 😀 . But I don’t know if ground is a good enough sink for that.

The ground temp in Utah for instance is like 50 degrees F roughly all year long. Coiling tubing under the parking lots of these facilities should be enough to remove all the heat and potentially melt all the snow during the winter.

I don’t think they’re going to consider renewables for cooling alone when the entire operation needs enormous amounts of power that cannot be satisfied by renewables.

I’m not talking for cooling but powering the servers. Something renewables could do if they don’t have to power air conditioning for the servers.

Most sponsors I’ve seen for youtube have some link or code to reference who sent you but I’m not buying anything they are selling.

I don’t care how many people Nord pays I’m not using their fucking VPN. Why even waste the electricity displaying an ad for a service I will never purchase.

If it make you feel better, they could do it all with one closed loop and just use the ground as the sink.

They could then power it entirely off solar panels and Iron air or sodium batteries.

But these decisions aren’t being made by people looking for sustainability but capitalists looking for profits. They’d cool their servers with the blood of children if it saved them money.

That and they want as many Steam decks to be working as possible. They don’t make their money on Steam Deck’s as much as they make money on people buying games for them.

At consumer prices. There’s no way Apple doesn’t pay wholesale rates for memory.

Lol just hold onto it forever “one day I’ll use this”

At least you finish your projects to a point that you even consider a domain. My depressed ass never makes it that far.

But THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!1!

Disregard how 1184 children died in the US to cars and 162,298 were injured in 2021 alone

Back when you used to be able to buy bigger batteries that gave your laptop a big ol ass

The reasoning that he doesn’t want it to be used like newpipe is really optimistic on his part. People break license all the time on much larger applications.

Pay me a subscription or I’ll shit on your doorstep every morning. Don’t complain, there’s a choice.

I used to live in Bountiful so I believe I can give some context here.

There was another fiber company (Utopia) that expanded to much of the area but each city had to basically join in and this was years ago. The city right next to Bountiful, Centerville had this fiber connection expanded while Bountiful never joined in and you were forced to use Comcast mostly. But Bountiful has always been a bit different compared to other cities in Utah as they also had city power instead of going through Rocky Mountain Power.

This is Bountiful being Bountiful going for community based utilities.
