Thoose given are distrubution channels, but there are group chats like t.me/durovschat which is 12k members. I forgot the limits which i think is 200k for chatroom and infinite(?) for distrubution channels
Edit: yeah its 200k and infinite in “broadcast groups”
Nope. Its not the definition of open source. Its the defenition of “source availiable”
Real open source defenition : https://opensource.org/osd
Real Free Software defenition : https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.en.html
Have a good read. If you want tl;dr, here is it
Open source is a developement methodology in which software is licensed with the permission for everyone to collaborate and develop it. Anyone has the freedom to modify and contribute to it.
Free software is a matter of freedom. It refers to the 4 essential freedoms a software should have, that is freedom to use, modify, share copies and share modified copies for the community however you want without restriction.
FOSS is software that fits both theese defenitions. While practically almost all free software are open source and almost all open source software are free software, but there are few exeptions
Signal does not have an official api to be implemented by third party clients. There are very few clients that can work with signal. It does not ‘support’ third party clients.
Well, there are many!
Chats that can be simultaneously accessed from multiple devices? Video messages? Sticker packs that can be added with links and packs are availiable from one sticker sent? Animated stickers? Bots?(idk if bots are there on signal) Inline bots? Group management? Groups with 200,000members? Modular admin permissions for groups? Emojis with animations? Channels? Usernames? A non-electron app? Themes which can customise every single colour to any color which can be made and shared? Send message without notifying? Group voice channels which people can hope in and out? Screensharing in calls(unsure)? Code formatting? 2GB media upload? Smooth and quick animations everywhere?(this one might be relative) Fingerprint app unlock?(If it exist, its not working for me)
Theese are the ones i can remember now, there are more
I guess brave had some tweaks on browser engine apart from that, yeah.
One thing worth mentioning is that in android browser is usually contained in the app so when you install different copies of different versions maybe installed. But on iPhone, you are using the browser built in to the system as backend
Try huggingchat from huggingface
Some bridged chats in telegram might be better example. They use bots to bridge messages between discord, matrix, telegram etc.(eg. t.me/STKInternational (supertuxkart game community lol))
But its not lnk but an executable that needs to be excecuted manually?
