AFAIK, AMD is not as good as nvidia on Windows. Also because they are less popular, they get less support from program/game developers, which is probably why people are picking nvidia.
I think even if AMD is strictly better than nvidia, it will still take years for nvidia to fall unfortunately. Look at the AMD v.s. intel problem, Intel has been strictly behind AMD for many years now, yet intel still dominates the laptop market, and doing okay in the desktop market.
Obviously, this doesn’t mean open-source supporters all need to cave to nvidia. Personally, I will avoid nvidia hardware when I can. But I think we have a long and hard battle ahead of us.
Uh that makes sense. I guess my original comment is more out of jealousy: I have so many movies that I want to watch, but I have never find the time and energy to do so. After work, dinner, chat, duolingo, and lunch prep for my wife, I barely find any time during my night, and it is kind of frustrating for me.
Last year, I have only finished like less than 5 from like 50 titles.
I am glad people are enjoying their hobby. I personally would not be on Netflix anymore as most of the movie I want to watch is not on there, but I can now kind of see it might be worth it for others.
It also surprises me that this large amount of the population takes movie and TV as a hobby.
Likely no, and fortunately the developer has legal insurance and plan to fight the case if it happens.

Good call, article link https://www.ifixit.com/News/88815/the-worst-in-show-2024-losers-are-in
I have also added it to the post.
Could be, I imagine there would be less work if everyone has the same OS.
I dont work in IT, but I remember there are excellent tools by Microsoft to do mass IT management (but who want to use windows anyway /jk)
would be interesting to see a comparison of IT tools avaliable macOS, Windows, and Linux distros. And how much advantage does immutable OSes like silverblue, macOS, and chrome OS provides against mutable OSes.
I think you can just lockdown the bios with a super strong password to get the similar security as macbook, no? Since I think the only one major security feature avaliable on mac, but not on PC, is a locked down bois, so attacker cannot install a malicious OS.
Assuming your bios is reasonably secure and you are using a reasonable OS with reasonable security feature enabled (like linux with LUKS and TPM auto-unlock, or windows with bitlocker), PC should be reasonably secure compare to a mac.
I would love to know what other security features mac provides that is not avaliable on a PC.
Fairphone 4 is sold and supported in NA, hope they will carry fairphone 5 as well: https://mander.xyz/comment/2699680
This summary suggests all the researcher did was a google search. This is not true. Researcher only did a google search to identify the keyphrase, then surveyed the result relating to these keyphrases.

Shortly after publishing this article in her blog, she also published a gh repo collecting incidents of misogynism https://github.com/iyzhang/misogyny/ It would be great if people can give it a read or contribute incidents.
Glad to see this article is eventually published by the ACM.
