D+ has the buggyst app of and of the services I’ve tried, you’d think such a major monopoly could afford to fix bugs several years in…

I see the point of character creators, but games shouldn’t be afraid to do what’s best for them, for some games character creators are basically the only way that makes sense, but also yeah I’d like to see more games that didn’t have them at all

I love valve (as much as I can love any company anyway) and I’d like to try deadlock at some point if given the opportunity, but hero shooters are not for everyone, give me a single player story any day

Paint.net has to be the one piece of software I really miss from Windows, I still have Krita and Gimp but I used to use all 3 on Windows for different purposes

(Well that and VR, but ALVR recently updated to fix audio issues so that is at least coming along)

Same with games while we’re at it, there are games I got for free that I would rather pirate so it doesn’t have the DRM than download and install the copy I have legal access to

People have talked about proton and how it can play practically everything these days (I even got it working with games that don’t work with modern windows) but if you play multiplayer games with anti-cheat, here’s a useful site https://areweanticheatyet.com/

Iirc I can browse folders in jellyfin for videos not for audio, I have no idea why they are different but they are

My issue with using jellyfin for audio probably isn’t fixable by any external app, I need to be able to use the folder structure, with some content it’s the only reasonable way to sort it

Until then I’ll still be using plexamp for my audiodramas

Minetest needs a more active community, one where people talk about mod combinations that they’ve played with and enjoyed. With Minecraft I can find tons of modpacks and people talking about them on places like youtube and reddit, it makes it a lot easier to pick things to play

Oh wow, I’ve joked that elon was just Edison 2.0 but this is just further proof

Linux user here, I really think we should stop recommendding Ubuntu, it’s not what it used to be

And wouldn’t it be a lot cheaper to just build your own PC rather than pay the premium for the apple logo?

100%, but I have family that uses Apple, and If I got an old mac from any of them I wouldn’t complain, I’d just quietly instal a new OS

It’s funny to me becouse these days with all the remote software reinstallation and asking why you want to close one drive and things, windows isn’t exactly very personal either

For the last time, PC means personal computer, not windows computer, if a mac isn’t a personal computer then what is it?

Same, I don’t even touch google play anymore, to high a risk of downloading spyware or a virus

At least hopefully in that future they’re all interoperable so choosing one over another wouldn’t really be that big an issue

For my parents sake I’m keeping it until that gets to me, though they have been warned and are going through everything they want to watch as fast as they can

I’m only keeping it to share with my parents, the second they follow Netflix’s new policy on password sharing though I’m out

If they block my google account, so be it, I’m done with them, they are a horrible company and keep getting worse

You underestimate the amount of data google collects from it’s users, and then sells to advertisers, whether or not they view ads

The day YouTube successfullly made it so that it won’t work without playing ads is the day I delete every google account I have

I’m not putting up with it

Only thing that made the 2 more comfortable for me was 3d printing adapters so I could replace the strap with a vive audio strap

Honestly I hope that Emily recovers from this, couldn’t care less about ltt itself anymore though

+1 for monster’s inc doors, I’d like one of those to visit my family more easily

Even if it was an extra $10 give us the option.

I would pay more than that for a Logitech USB C dongle

I’m committed to the fediverse, in some ways I like Kbin more though, and of course I would be perfectly happy to find something better suited

Honestly though the fediverse is exciting

My last desktop (made 3 quarters of a decade ago now) didn’t, but that’s becouse I knew someone with a USB disc reader, the only thing I ever needed it for was installing windows though

I’ve been saying this for years, blurays have a relatively small (by mobern standards) size cap, USB sticks just keep getting bigger
