For people in the US, I think you guys have a similar mechanism (at least at state level) which could be used to put this in place called Ballot Initiatives.

That’s great to hear. I was just thinking that Parliament had a similar petition website

Notice that it isn’t publicly traded. I suspect that’s why it hasn’t enshittified.

They shouod also introduce Phone a Friend where it remotely opens a debugger on the dev’s computer.

It becomes quite OOP if you use it with React

Now this is an interesting observation.

She’s trained to compete on that level of pecking at one another to vie for status.

This must be it. She must see politicians responding to her as proof of her status. Because the moment he begins walking away from her is when she turns submissive.

What did Bernie do right here?
Between 0:47 - 0:56 https://youtu.be/vhwljByMFas?t=46 He goes from the reporter forcing him a loaded question to the reporter giving him free air time. I feel there is a change in the power dynamic but I cannot work out what exactly plays off here. But I think what he does is usually used as a haggling tactic. I wonder where he learnt how to do this.

I actually like how much freedom C++ gives you. As long as it is fed valid code, it does not give a fuck about how you choose to structure your project

Wait, is that really happening? If so, Lemmy backend, here I come! (I am a C# programmer, Rust scares me)

As another poster has said, your internet package probably has an advertised upload speed beside your download speed (which is what people are usually interested in). Since you will be sending pieces of your torrent accross the internet, I think this will be the main speed bottleneck you will face. This will obviously also be split between however many leechers download your torrent at once. But given the p2p nature of torrents, the number of people downloading ddirectly from you should be much smaller than the number of people downloading the torrent altogether.

I swear I see those old 1280x1024 monitors everywhere. I have one just like that at home. Also came from my dad’s old job

The height increase of the ponytail is intended to demonstrate dominance

Interesting analogy, please explain

JSON spreads out tree nodes vertically (with all the attributes), whereas in XML it’s usually one node per line, ie. more compact I suppose. This is just my very niche opinion though

I think XML only makes sense if your data is heavily tree-like

But it’s written in some oddball language called Squeak

Wasn’t there an EU court case a couple of years ago that determined that supplements are allowed use meaty language?

Does this run some ML wizardry on the images?

Does anyone know who will lead Wagner now that Prigozhin is gone?
They still have considerable value and power, especially with their mining operations in Africa. Do we know who was second-in-command, or is there going to be a power struggle?

I know these are currently out of fashion but I'm still thankful they exist. Let's remind ourselves of devices that use(d) these standardized batteries: * Toys * Digital cameras * Torches * Gadgets like fans * Wireless keyboards * TV remotes Thanks to having a standardized system of batteries, * You can use the same battery across several devices. This is a no brainer but it's very practical. * Batteries can charge quicker thanks to being put in a dedicated charger and not being limited by USB cables. (But yes I concede that USB has been updated for faster charging over the years) * Devices don't have down time when their battery is charging. To charge, the battery is removed from the device and can immediately be replaced with a fresh one. * You'll never have to trash a device due to an expired battery. Just buy a replacement. And building on this... * Any improvements in future battery technology can be retro-fitted into your existing devices. And there is a high incentive for future improvement, because... * An accessible (due to easy replacement) and large (due to many devices) battery market is very attractive to competition. If you look at the pros I listed, they all happen to be things that would be very useful for electric cars. So I think it would aid the adoption of electric cars if their batteries were standardized too.
