I got paid to play factorio for 4 hours last week.

No. There’s no reason the content has to be on only one platform other than anti-competitive bullshit. They could all have all the content and differentiate themselves in other ways with quality of life features. Then people would have options without missing out on content.

My peak was one. For like 5-6 years Netflix had enough content to keep me entertained by itself. When the other media companies started pulling their stuff off Netflix to make their own services I started pirating again. Why would I bother keeping track of multiple services when I can get one VPN subscription and have it all plus stuff that isn’t on any of them?

I’d have to double check but I believe that only works on windows and I know for sure you can’t use it for network shares. I have it on my windows desktop but wasn’t able to backup my media server with it.

Interesting. I always figured the wires inside were all the same.

I bought a charging pad once that had a USB c connector but none of the 40 USB power adapters I have have one so I returned it. IDK wtf they were thinking. Just make the wall end an A connector like everyone else has been doing for a decade.

Well you got the second part right.

They should have had security in place beforehand if they didn’t want people to scrape their site. If AA hadn’t done it someone else would have. Don’t make it public if you don’t want people to use it.

Defendants, through the Anna’s Archive domains, have made, and continue to make, all 2.2 TB of WorldCat® data available for public download through its torrents,” OCLC wrote in the complaint it filed in an Ohio federal court.

It was 2.2 TB that is nothing…

Everyone knows the line for inappropriate behavior is criminal charges being filed.

Just cut up the model into a million smaller parts and post them on thingiverse so everyone on that site that already has a 3d printer can print one out and mail it to baltimore. EZ

Yes I liked having pictures of my dead pets and relatives from 10 years ago but I wasn’t going to ever look at them again. I have my memories and that’s enough.

I used to think like this but I’ve found that going through those old pictures is a good way to bring up memories you wouldn’t otherwise think about again. I like to do that when I’m in a funk and it really helps to clear my head of nasty emotions.

OMG having a sales target causes people to push the things that help them meet their sales target? How could we possibly have predicted that?

It’s Microsoft. There’s always more bugs on the way.

How about we just execute the richest person every 3 months?

After I’m finished doing the same shit over and over again for another 7-800 hours in warframe I’m sure I’ll get around to playing some of the games I actually paid money for.

If I could pay a fair price for the product I’m getting off torrents (no drm media files I can use on any device I want) I’d consider it. I buy books off humble bundle like all the time.

“oh, right. If I had just pirated this my content wouldn’t be delayed by these stupid piracy warnings.”

Yea, it is one of the worst things I’ve ever had to use and I had to use it a lot. It wasn’t even supported by our IT team. Somehow HR went around them to implement it themselves. Which made it even worse because there were a shitload of problems at the start that any tier 1 help desk agent could have told them would happen if they’d bothered to ask for help.

A lot depends on the implementation and how well the devs that worked on your instance did their job. Some stuff they built into ours works great and I appreciate those things. A lot of it is really half assed, inconsistent with other parts, and people who process things are nitpicky as fuck about actually doing it if you didn’t submit it just right (and they didn’t bother to validate inputs to make sure you do). Overall it’s slow and bloated AF when I’m trying to run reports which is mostly what I use it for.

Agreed. Everything on 1 page, submit, done. I had to use Workday at my last job and it was fucking atrocious trying to get anything submitted in because it was all step by step bullshit.

IDK. It was hung up at 70 something % and I never got around to deleting it. Then one day after having long forgotten about it the notification saying it was done popped up and I was like “holy shit!”

I recently had a torrent finish after a year and a half. It wasn’t something I was really concerned about but it gave me a nice feeling to know it had finished.

Yea, the only time I ever asked someone to get a note was when I needed to get HR to do an ADA accommodation or FMLA or something for someone. As far as we were concerned otherwise an absence is an absence and there was a point system in place. As long as you stayed below the threshold you were fine.

I use the readera app on my android tablet. Haven’t had any problems with it yet.

This has been known for at least a decade at this point. How HP still has a printer business I’ll never understand.

When I read the title I was like “How would you torrent ewaste?” I’m going back to sleep.

Please don’t think I’m disparaging your wife here but in my experience saying “they should just be able to …” Has never been followed by the intended person “just being able to…”. Even people I thought were very intelligent/tech savvy. It may be worthwhile to run through the procedure with her a few times if shes not already familiar with it.

I think they’re talking about the OG one not whatever they’re doing since then and they’re 100% correct. Every track on the Ipod nano I had was pirated. Idk what apple has done since then because that was the only apple device I ever used at all and I ended up replacing it with PSP but they did originally benefit from piracy because I wouldn’t have bought it if I wasn’t able to add my own music like that.
